Important Questions & Issues Question: I've been coming to the web site for a couple of years and I see some of the same guitars. Is there something wrong with them?
Answer: No! Think about this: when you go to a music store, you may see hundreds of guitars hanging in rows, 2-3 inches apart. In this "vast sea" of guitars you may find 1 or 2 exceptional guitars in the whole store if you are lucky that day. Here at FGC, every guitar is exceptional. All that remains is the task of matching each instrument with each player. So, it is likely that a guitar may sit here until just the right person with the hands and heart for that particular guitar is matched up.
Question: If I have an old factory guitar that I want to get rid of, will you take it and re-sell it for me?
Answer: We turn away many of the guitars that are offered to us. If the instrument is not truly exceptional, it doesn't belong in our inventory. We are here for the player. We won't waste the time of a player who seeks fine tone and an inspirational connection with the right instrument. So, there are at least 3 possible solutions for you. First, you can have it set up and adjusted with new strings and give it to a family member who you might inspire to play guitar for the first time. (We like that option.) Second, you could sell it privately or through a guitar store. Third, if the guitar has a sound and feel that you connect with, or it has sentimental value--consider sending it to Fine Guitar Consultants for re-voicing. We represent the services of Scott van Linge. Scott is now working with a steady stream of our clients' guitars, having great success with each one of them. (References readily available.) Scott will work through the soundhole of a flat top steel string guitar and re-shape the braces and bridge to release the instrument's true potential.
