Designed by George Barnes and built by Carlo Greco and his team at The Guild Guitar Company, Hoboken New Jersey, in 1962. This is the only prototype of the Guild George Barnes "Acousti-Lectric." This was George's only standard guitar, and was played on every recording from 1962 until his death in September, 1977. The strings he put on the guitar the day he died are still remarkably fresh...
Along with letters, recordings, and full documentation, this guitar is part of the "Historical Trio of Archtops" offered by Fine Guitar Consultants. The others include Wes Montgomery's 1963 Gibson L-5C and Merle Travis's 1962 prototype Guild Merle Travis SOLOMASTER"

Instrument now available to see--and purchase.
