This amplifier is only for acoustic guitar players that use under-saddle pickups or B-Band pickups. If this is you, read on:
After doing our research, we are ready to make a recommendation for acoustic players: The Soundboard 2 Amplifier. The 2 means second generation. The makers had some problems with the first round of amps. Those issues have been eliminated in this fimal and stable product. The Soundboard 2 now performs consistently and quite well--though it now costs a bit more to bring to market.

"When I first saw this amp in an ad a few years ago, I reacted by commenting on how the ultimate hype marketing gimmick is now out! An amp that has a guitar soundboard to take the place of a speaker!

Well, here I am a few years later. I now can tell you, without hesitation, that this is a serious approach and enhancement for natural sound in acoustic guitar amplification.

If you have an under saddle pickup or a B-Band (check with me on other pickup brands), the Soundboard 2 ($2,400) will work for you.

Also recommended is the extension cabinet ($1,800). More coverage in your living room or on-stage--and a bigger, even smoother result. Those that come from the world of Rock bands know the synergistic effect of playing through multiple amps. It cannot be adequately described...other than suddenly your guitar plays much more effortlessly!

This thing is out and out fun--ear candy, to be sure.

Actually, I don't even consider this box a conventional amplifier. It is more of a sound replicator for the acoustic guitar.

Bruce Petros is partners in this company, along with the man who conceived of this dream idea years ago, David Van Delinder. Bruce and David implemented the idea, and after struggling with a few shortcomings and sticking with it, you can now "pluck the fruit of their efforts." The knobs on this particular 2-input amp are fun to play with! You can not only clone your natural guitar sound--but you can also change the body size of your instrument in terms of its cloned perception and presence. Make your OM sound like a jumbo...or a parlor. Change one natural tone into another by adjusting each segment (knob) of the tonal spectrum. After running through the possibilities, you will develop your favorite settings." --Richard
